Spring must be coming — birds are starting to sing, and sap is starting to flow.
We’ve tapped a half-dozen sugar maples around the neighborhood, with plans for boiling our first batch of syrup on Sunday.
And I’ve learned that when you’re collecting the sap, it helps to have a partner along to help out:

Thanks everyone for a perfect day. How wonderful to return from weaving workshop in Harrisville with Patricia, the latest weaving convert, and discover Richard, Peter and the kids building the ultimate open air igloo, then to barely squeeze in the entryway and find a sliver of new moon hanging right above.

Today has been a banner day at Nubi and it’s only 8 AM!
Suzy arrived at the Common House rosy from attending to the cows in -2 degree cold. She announced that the full moon had been in perfect alignment with the road through Nubi and was such a glorious sight, she barely refrained from summoning [...]
This past weekend was a cohousing whirlwind of winter fun for our children.
Friday: our first annual neighborhood birthday celebration, which included outdoor scavenger hunt, indoor limbo contest and pina coladas, and a sumptuous community dinner.
Saturday and Sunday: ice skating on our pond, hot chocolate and movies with neighbors, community potluck in the Common House.
