How do I add a new post to the Nubi News blog?
1. After logging in, go to the homepage of the blog <http://blog.nubicoho.org/>, then under the “Administration” section (on the left-hand side of the page) click Site Admin, or go directly to http://blog.nubicoho.org/wp-admin/.
2. Select Write from near the top of the page (or Write a New Post from the right-hand side of the horizontal orange bar) then fill out the main fields in the form.
3. Click Publish (in the gray box on the right-hand side of the page) when you’re ready to make the posting public. Alternatively, you can click Save, then come back to your draft later to click on Publish and make it public. (Note that after you’ve “published” the posting, you can return and edit it, if needed.)
How do I add to the Events Calendar?
1. After logging in, go to the administration section of the blog by clicking Site Admin or going to http://blog.nubicoho.org/wp-admin/.
2. Select Events Calendar from the bottom of the left hand button column, or go to http://blog.nubicoho.org/wp-admin/admin.php?page=events-calendar. The calendar page should load. Scroll down below the calendar and fill out the “Add Event” form below it.
3. Click Add Event to add the event to the calendar. In addition to having the event show up on the calendar, you can have it show up as a posting on the homepage of the blog by putting a checkmark in the box at the bottom of the form next to “Create Post for Event.” However, if you do select this option, you should try to use an engaging title and include a detailed description to make the posting an interesting one for featuring on the homepage. Standard calendar events, such as regular group meetings, probably should be confined to just the calendar and do not merit creating a posting on the main blog page.
4. If you do select the “Create Post for Event” box, then you will be given an option for “Post Status.” If you select “Draft,” then by default, a post will be created to match the event. The post will not be published to the front page of the blog until you edit it, fill in any details that you’d like to add (e.g., add a picture), then select Publish from the section at the right. Or you can select Publish right away, and the event will show up as a posting on the main blog page as well as on the calendar.
